    Biffy Clyro news

The new single ‘Bubbles’ released April 26th on 14th Floor Records – Featuring Queen of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme

“Springs the band instantly level with the greatest rock acts in the world.” – NME

“There are those talking of this record as an ascent to the mainstream. It would be a rare and welcome thing indeed if a band with the depths Biffy Clyro possess could achieve such ubiquity.” – Kerrang!

“A supremely confident, passionate and gritty work which proves the Ayrshire trio are now among rock’s heavyweights.” – The Sun

“A huge, polished brute of a record. The melodies are instant… this is a big, obvious, step forward.” – The Guardian

Hot on the heels of their recent NME Award, Biffy Clyro release the new single ‘Bubbles’ on April 26th on 14th Floor Records. Released to coincide with their imminent UK tour, the single is taken from their current album ‘Only Revolutions’ that debuted in the Top 10 and has since sold 250,000 copies in the UK alone.

A fiery concoction of aggressive melodies, compelling hooks and a blistering closing jam, ‘Bubbles’ features a special guest in the shape of Josh Homme who contributes additional guitar to the track. Their friendship was cemented when Biffy Clyro toured Europe and North America as support to Homme’s Queens of the Stone Age.

Someone like Josh, it’s like he’s a musical lifer,” says vocalist/guitarist Simon Neil. “We are as well, and I think when you meet people you can see in their eyes whether they really mean it or not. It’s kind of weird being friends with someone who’s a hero like Josh, but I see in him what I see in myself and he sees in us what he saw in himself, that kind of hunger and willingness and doing it for the right reasons. It’s really easy to connect with people because of that.”

‘Bubbles’ will be released on CD and two vinyl formats, with b-sides to be confirmed.

Biffy Clyro’s prior UK tour included two rapturously received homecoming shows at Glasgow’s Barrowload and concluded at London’s Brixton Academy. Their upcoming tour, listed below, concludes with another sizeable London date at Hammersmith Apollo:

    29th – Perth, Concert Hall

    30th – Sheffield, O2 Academy

    1st – Blackpool, Empress Ballroom

3rd – Leicester, De Montfort Hall

    4th – Portsmouth, Guildhall

    5th – Bristol, Colston Hall

    6th – London, Hammersmith Apollo

In addition, Biffy Clyro will also play the Isle of Wight and T in the Park festival. Further festival dates are likely to be announced in the coming weeks.

    Ronnie Wood news

The Rolling Stones rocker, 62, is said to be smitten with 30-year-old Brazilian beauty Ana Araujo – who he has been dating for several weeks – and thinks she is a good influence after helping him quit drinking again.

A source said: “Ronnie now thinks Ana could be the woman to make a life with. She’s such a positive influence on him and they’ve very relaxed in each other’s company. They’re happy enjoying the simple things in life like staying in, making meals and watching films.

“He couldn’t be happier and there’s already talk of them getting married as early as this summer.”

Ronnie – who was married to late model Krissy Wood from 1971 to 1978 and divorced second wife Jo Wood last year, 24 years after they wed – met Ana shortly after splitting with 21-year-old Katia Ivanova.

His 15-month union with the former cocktail waitress ended amid a series of explosive rows and friends think coming out of such a tempestuous relationship has made Ronnie appreciate Ana even more.

The source added to the Daily Express newspaper: “Ronnie hasn’t felt this happy and focused for a long time and he knows there aren’t many women capable of having such an effect on him.

“He feels he has someone very special in Ana and is ready to make the ultimate commitment to her.”

    Jared Leto news

Jared Leto thinks being a film star is more interesting than making music.

The ‘Fight Club’ actor – who also fronts rock band 30 Seconds to Mars – enjoys both aspects of his professional life but finds movie-making more ‘rewarding’. He said: ‘Making a film is really the most interesting part for me. I love the research. I love the building of a character. I also don’t need to make five movies a year – I’m not after being the person who makes the most films. I want to have a rewarding, challenging experience, so I tend to do more art house type films, not big blockbuster movies. It’s interesting to be able to be a smaller piece of a bigger puzzle.’

While Jared prefers the challenge of the film industry, the 38-year-old hunk also enjoys the responsibility he has producing music, writing songs and coming up with ideas for the band – also consisting of Tomo Milicevic and Shannon Leto. He explained: ‘With music you’re much more responsible for everything. As the songwriter, as a person who’s behind some of the creative ideas, you are the director, writer, editor, producer and the actor, so you have a much bigger contribution.’

    30 Seconds To Mars

Have been loving the 30secondstomars Kings & Queens video for a long time now.

Even though it’s constantly on the music channels, thought I would give it due credit and post a link on here.
